I have the Hauppauge 150 and the captions it records is different from what I see on the TV. Is there anyway I can change which caption it is recording?

Not that I'm aware of. This is just something that happens automatically behind the scenes in the drivers.

would that be a different language? or just layout?
tv's typically have more than layout to show the cc's in, but it's the tv doing it..
placement is dependent on the player..the words should be the same tho..Smile

if you want a diff language, try changin it in the dvd preferences in config.xml

The audio is in Spanish but the captions are in English. However, after I record and rip the captions they are also in Spanish.
What in the config.xml do I need to change?

There is nothing in config.xml that would help this. Any CC capture that is happening is done by the Hauppauge drivers. There might be some hauppauge drivers to control the preferred language, but I couldnt tell you what that might.

Its more likely something your subtitle ripper needs to do. (ie, all languages CC are captured, but ripper is grabing the wrong one)
