Fastest Channel Changing?

I am using the Hauppage exe-based blaster with my GBPVR setup (PVR-150). Chaning channels takes 2-3 seconds. What kind of hardware can/should I get to make changing channels as fast as "native" remote and cable box?

The set top is a Scientific Atlanta 2100.

My hardware is Compaq SFF D510, 512mb RAM, XP Pro, dedicated to GBPVR, 160gb IDE HD, NVidia GEForce 6200.

If you have to use an external set top box, then you are always going to get delays.

Some set top boxes support changing channel by serial port, which is supposed to be quite a bit quicker than using an IR Blaster, but I couldnt tell whether thats an option with the Scientific Atlanta 2100.
