If I install gbpvr on two machines and set one up as the client, could I use the client copy of EWA to access the servers DB?

I've been looking at moving some stuff off my server so that i can start making it hibernate etc, so I'd like to set up EWA on a client machine and access the servers gbpvr.db3 across the network (if the server is up).

Do you think this is possible?

I have no idea....theoretically it could be done....and I guess it very well may work since ewa uses the GBPVR API which in client mode knows where to get all the info.......

Give it a try and let me know what happens....should be interesting. Big Grin

It was more so that the machine would go to sleep (server) I found if I went in via ewa at some point the machine would stay awake all the time. Put it down to some internet/web type thing.

Can you give me some details...I just tried it and can get a site, but its from a local db copy rather than from the server.

I tried but everything in the guide is empty - pBs would you like to elaborate on how to managed to serve up a guide via EWA on the client pc.

thanks
