Many people have reported this in some other threads and I've pretty much exhausted what I do to make this better without sub's help. What I can tell from the log's is that gbpvr stopped responding to the remote within 2 minutes of startup which is usually a trigger for me that a user hit a key before gbpvr was ready and you did hit a key within 5 seconds of connecting.

I can duplicate this quite easily and it has been an issue since the very first release of emulation mode so it is not version specific. I have never seen this with the Hauppauge server either. If sub and I can eliminate I will be very happy.

I'd be happy to take another look at it, but its not good timing for me. In a few hours I'm getting on a plane to the New York and will be away for two of weeks.

I've got the same problem... re: remote failing to respond after a few minutes. Latest mvpmc dongle installed. Are you saying if I wait 5 seconds after GBPVR comes up in emulation mode before hitting any keys that this does not happen? That would at least provide an "interim" workaround.

I've noted that if you hit the remote too early there are guaranteed to be problem almost immediately and that is what I noticed in sgray's logs. Because sgray started right into the video the problem wasn't immediately apparent.
I can't tell you time but waiting five seconds is probably not enough, I count to eight.

I also don't think this will stop the problem of the remote just dieing after it worked for a long time but I haven't seen this problem myself.

I've had a similar, but different, problem.

In my case, if I have been viewing a previously recorded program and I have used SKIP AHEAD and SKIP BACK a lot of times, eventually the lights on the MVP flash if I press SKIP again but PVRX2 does not respond to the command. To get out of the problem, I select Back/Exit and then request to RESUME playing the program. This clears it up every time until the problem reoccurs again later.

I have downloaded the December, 2007 version of NativeUtilities.dll and will see if that makes a difference. Previously, I had been running the November 10, 2007 version of the DLL.

UPDATE: The newer version of NativeUtilities.dll did not fix the problem.

I was going to post that I didn't think this was a DLL problem. In any case, based on the logs I've looked at there does seem to be link between using the ff/skip etc a lot and "losing" the remote. Because of the lag of the client/server you do have a be a little patient and with mvpmc short skip is recommended as is the mvpmc Go FF for moving forward at 2x speed.
