I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think we'll ever see a card that can capture and encode a HD signal from component inputs...

(something that would be needed to get HD from an STB for satellite subscribers to HDTV broadcasts)

but perhaps we will see a capture card with DVI or HDMI inputs?

I suspect we'll eventually see component high def capture, but no DVI/HDMI capture, since it has some sticky legal issues.
