A while back, my recording service stopped automatically starting when Windows starts. I now have to remember to restart it manually every time. It started happening a couple versions ago, and I'm now running 1.1.5 but still have the same problem. The recording service log isn't updated at all when Windows starts, so apparantely it's not even trying to start. Anyone know what the problem might be?

Is the GB-PVR Recording Service set to "automatic" in the Services panel of Windows?

(Start, Run, services.msc will get you to the services list)

Set it to automatic and it should start when the system boots.

I'd have a look in the Windows Event log then. If its not starting it, it should say why.

Good idea. These are the three errors that appeared at startup. I used to have a Leadtek WinFast card, but I uninstalled the drivers when I got my PVR150.

The weird thing is the recording service used to start fine, but stopped working somewhere around the time I updated the Hauppauge drivers or upgraded to the new GBPVR verison. Just now I tried wiping the Hauppague drivers and installing them again, and voila, the recording service now starts on its own, and the Timeout error is gone. Very strange, because if something wasn't right with the drivers, then how was everything working once I manually started the service?

The WinFast errors however are still there. No Winfast services are listed, but something apparantly thinks they still exist. I'll have to give Leaktek's driver install tool a go and see if it fixes it.

Thanks-

Code:
The WinFast VC100 WDM Video Capture service failed to start due to the following error:
The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.

Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for the GB-PVR Recording Service service to connect.

The WinFast VC100 WDM Crossbar service failed to start due to the following error:
The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.
