Sub,
Thanks for looking at this.
I PRESUME you misspoke (mis-wrote) and mean you wanted to take a look at the m3u files, and not the mp3 files. (The mp3 files play fine if specifically selected, individually or as part of an album.) So, that attached contains the m3u files mentioned in my post, and shown in the snapshot. If I'm mistaken, and you want the mp3's, let me know.

Cheers ... Bob

Sub,

Here are some snippets that you asked for:

M3U playlist:

Quote:#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:0,04 The Christmas Song.mp3
..\Christmas\Fourplay\Snowbound\04 The Christmas Song.mp3

#EXTINF:0,12 Auld Lang Syne.mp3
\\Simpleshare\Music\Christmas\Fourplay\Snowbound\12 Auld Lang Syne.mp3

#EXTINF:0,07 Bring a Torch, Jeannette, Isabella.mp3
\\Simpleshare\Music\Christmas\Canadian Brass\Canadian Brass Christmas\07 Bring a Torch, Jeannette, Isabella.mp3

PVRX2 Log file snippet corresponding to the selection of the playlist in the application:

Hope this helps...

Thanks!
Mike

I found out why my playlists don't work in Music Library. Here is the explanation in case it helps anyone else.

I built my playlists in WMP 11 and had it save the playlists in m3u format.
The WMP playlist 'Save As' dialog gives you a choice of where to put the playlist, which is nice in theory. However, the playlist it writes specifies a relative path, not an absolute path. The advantage of that is that if you move your library and playlists to another place, the playlists will still work; the disadvantage is that you can't move your playlists alone.

I edited the paths from relative to absolute, and now they work. Here's an example track from before editing:

#EXTINF:0,01 She Loves You [Take].mp3
..\The Beatles\Anthology 1 Disc 2\01 She Loves You [Take].mp3

And here it is after making the path absolute:

#EXTINF:0,01 She Loves You [Take].mp3
F:\My Music\By Artist\The Beatles\Anthology 1 Disc 2\01 She Loves You [Take].mp3

Perhaps there is a way to tell WMP whether to create relative or absolute paths, but I couldn't find one.

Part of my explanation above, http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...stcount=13 , re Windows Media Players's creation of m3u playlists, did a slight injustice to WMP.

If you use WMP's Save-As dialog to save a m3u playlist, it will be created using relative paths, as stated. However, it does build them correctly given where you tell it WMP to save the playlist. It's when you move the playlist manually that the problem occurs.

I think GB-PVR's m3u support copes with either asolute paths, or relative paths not containing "..", so relative paths like below are fine

Quote:#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:0,04 Beautiful Life.mp3
.\Beautiful Life.mp3

#EXTINF:0,12 U2 - One.mp3
.\U2 - One.mp3
