I have seen several posts which refer to issues relating to LogMeIn. For those who do not know LogMeIn (http://www.logmein.com) is a tool to remotely control a computer (similar to Remote Desktop Connection). It has a free version which is sufficient for my needs and works with XP/Vista including the home versions.
I think this is the first time that I am posting a fix instead of a call for help so I am happy to do so and want to thank all of those who have helped me in the past. If this happens to be duplicate and this fix is known then I apologize. I did a search in these forums and saw some calls for help but no fixes.
My experience was that PVRX2 "seemed" to lock up when started over a LogMeIn connection. The program window's border and title would appear but not the main body of the program and, to add insult to injury, GBPVR worked fine.
LogMeIn installs some sort of mirror video driver by default. It also uses this driver by default.
Open LogMeIn, connect to a computer, choose the Preferences option, choose the Remote Control Settings option ---> the first option on this page is "Use mirror display driver".
I unchecked this option and the issue went away. PVRX2 displayed and functioned fine while connecting remotely via LogMeIn.
I cannot guarantee that this will fix your issue. But, I was very happy to find that it fixed mine and hope that it does fix your.
