I have installed GBPVR on a new Windows 7 box. Now, I am unable to use GBPVR to view any videos or live TV on the box itself. The streaming to the MVP seems to work fine for analog recorded shows but not those captured digitally using the TS Mux.

Installed is a HVR2250 and a HVR1600. I have setup all 3 tuners for analog cable on both cards. I have only set up the digital tuner on the HVR2250. I realize (now) that the HVR2250 can record two channels (including multiplexed shows on one digital QAM channel) at a time.

GBPVR is capturing the recordings. Initially, that was not the case, but a reboot seems to have set the card into a state that works.

Now, any video recorded by GBPVR is not visible on the PC running GBPVR, but on the TS streams, sound is heard.

All TS video is not being served to the MVP I have attached. The analog recordings stream fine, just not the digital ones.

Any guidance would be helpful. If I need to just skip GBPVR and move to NPVR, I am only hesitant because of the "beta" tag.

Thank you for all the work you all do.

Oddly your pvrx2.exe-native.log is filled with blank lines, I'm not sure why that is. However it does show attempts to play a .ts file, and the resulting graph looks ok to me. I'm not sure whether your MainConcept MPEG-2 decoder is one of the recommended ones. I'd start with some other decoders; the Microsoft DTV-DVD Decoder is a good one, I've been using it almost exclusively since going to Windows 7.

I don't know much about MVP's, other than they can't play .ts files directly; something has to transcode them before they can be played. I don't know what takes care of doing that though.

In regards to N-PVR, I moved over on the second beta release and am now running the third. There are some bugs that I have to work around daily, but in many ways it's already better than GB-PVR; more importantly N-PVR has a future, GB-PVR really doesn't. The fourth release of N-PVR is due any day now; I am not privy to any inside info, but I strongly suspect this release will fix all the current major bugs and add the features needed to make N-PVR really ready to use (probably still 'beta' though, with plenty left to do).

MVP's apparently become even less useful with N-PVR, in part because ALL recording in N-PVR is .ts; even analog.

Changing the playback and renderer solved the display issue. Thanks for the input on NPVR. I am looking at NMTs. It seems Popcorn Hour makes the most popular.

Thanks, on to other issues. Smile
