This is really neat, showing the device and what it is doing. But, in trying to troubleshoot a noisy recording channel, I got misled by the fact that the device names, or list order, in the status window don't change if you change the device no. in the config utility. This had the effect of making it look like my noisy channel was swapping between my devices if I changed the device no. Finally, got to pulling out the aerial to determine which device was actually working!

In effect, there is a disconnection between the working device and the status window device name.

you probably need that sql fix for capture order...
just a single sql command to make sure the capture order is same as in config..
if you have sqlite3.exe in gb dir, run this command:
sqlite3 "gbpvr.db3" "update CAPTURE_SOURCE set allocation_order=oid"

and see if that doesn't help..
remember, capture order and watching order are opposite direction..

Thanks pBS. I have run the command then changed the device number but the status window shows the wrong device being used. SQlite gave a ----> prompt after the comd so maybe I need to exit properly? (tried bye, quit, exit - must read the help later).

Yes, I saw the top down versus bottom up selection.

Thanks.

Re-did it properly this time! db3 file has an updated date/time but still the status shows the wrong device as before. Not much of a problem, now, however, as I can now set it back to the original device no.s. Certainly would be good if you could rely on the status window, though.

When you say the device number, do you mean in the capture source setup, or just in the list of capture sources?
The names in my status window are in the order I changed them to in the config.

mine is ok too...i use a batch file that just sends tray info to smartie for my lcd...so i always see it...and i've been changing sources quite frequently lately...Smile [2 new digital cards]

i even have 2 sources setup as same one so i can have my digitals first for both watch and record and it never gets it wrong..

you say you're changin the 'device #"? should only need to change device 'order'
changing device # wouldn't change anything on tray app...[it only shows device 'name' ] altho they should be in order..
otherwise i'd say check your database with a db3 viewer...must be something screwy in there..

Ah, I feel a light globe moment coming onSmile. I was changing the device # in the Edit/Settings screen. But, as this says, it is a board no.

Then I notice, for the first time, the up and down arrows for re-ordering the sources!! Brilliant.

I have it sussed, now, and apologise for being so dim.

Thanks, guys, for your help.
