The 3D and whiteboard links in that are cool stuff. For just wanting to move the cursor around, all kinds of infrared controllers should work. I've had an infrared "glove" for awhile now that is fun on occassion. The index finger controls the cursor, "clicking" your finger in the air is like pressing the mouse button, the middle finger "clicks" like the second mouse button, etc. I think the first popular consumer example of it was back when people hacked the old Nintendo Power Glove to do that.

I have something that would work even better than a Wiimote with GBPVR: The PS3 Blu-ray Bluetooth Remote! It only costs $25, and connects to most any bluetooth dongle. After pairing it, you can enable the remote by pushing any button if your bluetooth dongle is enabled.

There is a new version of GlovePIE that supports the PS3 Blu-Ray Bluetooth Remote; you can get it at: http://carl.kenner.googlepages.com/glovepie_download
Its called "bdremote" in GlovePIE.
You can easily use the GUI or the scripting language to create a custom mapping for all the GBPVR keyboard shortcuts.

In fact, I have written a GlovePIE script that supports the bdremote and GBPVR. If there is enough interest, I would be happy to post it here.

GlovePIE also supports Wiimotes by using bluetooth dongles. There are also available battery-powered sensor bars from Nyko I think. I have one velcroed to the top of my flatscreen monitor, and it works great! Scripting GlovePIE to have a wiimote work like a mouse would be very simple.

The PS3 Blu-Ray Bluetooth remote would be an excellent thing to add to the built-in support of GBPVR.

I used the GlovePIE program running a script enabling the Wiimote as a mouse and used it to control GBPVR. I don't think it's better than a dedicated remote, but it's sure fun to mess with.

There are better applications for this and similar Wiimote tricks, like playing emulated games

You can use the PS3 Bluetooth Remote and the Nintendo Wiimote to control GBPVR in the latest BETA of Intelliremote. You can't use the Wiimote as a mouse but you can map the buttons to any function in GBPVR or any other Windows application. The PS3 Remote is really nice with a lot of buttons. The Intelliremote installer has a wii.xml and sonyps3.xml profiles with the buttons mapped if anyone feels like giving it a try.

I want the Wiimote's motion ability. Fast forward and rewind with a flick of your wrist. They do that in LinuxMCE.
