Hello altogether,
as a newbie in PVR stuff I´m currently searching the best PVR software for my purposes.

To decide which SW I will use (Got TV or GB PVR) I´d like to ask some questions :

1) I´m located in Germany and we do not have fixed frequencies for the different programs as our cable providers can decide which frequency they use for the different programs. Did I understand it right that the "Tuning Assistant" is a tool to help me ? How must I se it to have GB PVR properly configured ?

2) My EPG source do not include all channels that I can receive with my PVR350. Is that a problem ?
How do I configure these "not in EPG" channels in GB PVR ?

3) How Do I schedule recordings that will use one of these "not in EPG" channels ?

4) Can I use the Composite IN of the PVR as recording source ? How ?
Is it enough to configure 2 capture sources ? One with the tuner and one with the composite in as input and both on the PVR350 ?
Is there a detailled description how to do this ?

5) I have a pay-TV decoder and this decoder is connected to the Composite IN of the PVR350. Is it possible to have more than one channel name assigned to that input ?
What I´d like to have is that I have several channel names (e.g "PREMIERE START", "PREMIERE SPORT" and "PREMIERE 1&quotWink assigned all to the Composite IN.
This would help a lot to find recordings in the recording panel.

Thanks for any help

Regards
Sven

The tuning assistant is just a tool to easily see what channels GB-PVR can see from your broadcaster, and what channel numbers they are broadcast on. If there are certain channels which are not being found because they're on non-standard frequencies, you may have to tweak the microsoft frequency override registry settings. Use the forum 'search' feature if you need to do this. You will be able to tune in all channels.

You can use the 'Add channel' button.

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]3) How Do I schedule recordings that will use one of these "not in EPG" channels ?
The schedule manual recording screen will allow you to pick any channel, including those added via 'Add channel'.

Yes, you can configure two capture sources to do this.

No, but if you ask questions, people will help you out.

Yes, this is what I do. You can have a full channel lineup assigned to the Composite IN if you wish. If you want GB-PVR to automatically change channels on your set-top box for you, you'll need to add a IR Blaster to your setup.
