I installed the Vista Codec Pack which is supposed to include the MPV decoder. After installing, the MPV decoder is not available in Config. I even rebooted just to be sure. Has anyone been successful in using this decoder in Vista? If so, how did you get it to appear?

Thanks.

Its possible they've changed the decoder name.

You could download a tool like GraphEdit to check it's name (choose InsertFilter from the menu, then expand the Directshow category to see the names). If its name has been changed, let me know the new name and I'll include in the config.xml.

Cool. I'll try it out tonight (I'm at work now). I'll reply as soon as I find the name.

Thanks Sub.

Sorry for the late reply. It turns out that the Codec I linked to does not include MPV. What I had initially tried before posting this thread was to manually register the MPV decoder. Vista said it registered fine (I ran cmd as administrator) but it never appeared in GBPVR.

I unregistered, re-registered and then it appeared fine. Odd.

Thanks again.
