Hey everyone. I'm having a problem with motion blur with sports broadcasts. It's especially apparent with the ticker at the bottom of ESPN which scrolls news. That thing is almost unreadable. I've tried using a new decoder (MPV). I disabled deinterlacing on it like I was recommended to do. If anyone has any suggestions as to how I can fix this, I would appreciate it soooo much. Thanks guys!

What graphics card do you have?

If it is an ATI 2x00 (not 2100), there is a good patch which (for me) cured all issues like this in one go except tearing. I cured that by getting the refresh rate as close to 50hz as my driver could manage (47hz looked odd in acion scenes- 56hz weems to be fine).

Now my balls are totally in focus......

I have an NVidia 8000 GT. What should I set my refreshed rate at by the way? I have a 50" Samsund DLP HDTV. It is connected with a PC monitor cable.

In the States you use 29.97 frames per second, I think. So any multiple of that (in reality any multiple of 30) should be ideal with regards to framerate.

I tried changing my frame rate but it hasn't helped. It's almost like when I watch ESPN, its going to fast. Like the motion ticket would be readable if it went slower. Stuff just seems to fast. Sorry if this doesn't make any sense. It's hard to explain...

Could it be that the frames are in the "wrong order"? Like it's showing frame 2, then frame 1, then 4, then 3, then 6, then 5 etc? I think you should read this thread: Don't mind the part with the quartz.dll - later on in the thread SystemShark points out that microsoft has a patch for that: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919071 . But there could be other hints in the thread, too.

I tried upgrading to EVR and it didn't fix the problem Sad

I'm starting to think maybe it's a frame rate issue. The faster an object moves, the harder it is for me to see it. Scrolling text on ESPN is almost impossible. When the ball is passed hard and fast on an NBA game I have no idea where it goes because I can't see it. However, when it is passed slower I can follow it better. When stuff goes fast, though, its just a blur.
