I was previously using an nvidia 7600GS. I'm currently using an ATI HD 2600 Pro.

Wanted to resurrect this (again) for yet more playback advice. My setup is ALMOST perfect now, just one problem remains. In an attempt to remove the stutter on horizontal pans and fast moving sports, I did some fiddling with the de-interlacing settings as deusxmachina suggested back in the second post and found that the 'bob' de-interlace using the ffdshow codec seems to make this MUCH better.

So at the moment, I'm using the VRM9 Fullscreen Exclusive renderer, with FFDshow video and audio decoders, and I'd quite like to stick with it. Problem is that, occasionally when skipping backwards and forwards through recordings, when playback resumes there's some serious stutter going on with the video. Pressing play/pause a few times, or skipping backwards and forwards again seems to get things back to normal - I wondered if anyone had any ideas on what could be causing that to happen? Is it renderer/decoder specific and any ideas on a fix?

Thanks as always,

FK

Edit: After some searching, I found this MS hotfix to fix stuttering after skipping using the VRM9 renderer - is this the one I should be applying?

Another resurrection for a question about UK Digital subtitles that a family member has requested, it's not something I've looked into before on GB-PVR - is it possible to get these?

No its not. "Teletext subtitles" on DVB work, but the "DVB Subtitles" as used in the UK are not supported.

Thanks. To be honest I'd be happy with any subtitles for Live-TV (don't need to capture them for recordings). I notice there's a Teletext Subtitles checkbox in the config, how do I go about activating them with the Hauppauge remote?

That patch doesn't solve the problem for everyone... it certainly didn't for me. The only thing that worked for me 100% was downgrading the quartz.dll to 9b.

They dont transmit Teletext Subtitles in the UK, so you wont get them. They use DVB Subtitles instead.
