Quick Question

Using a Nova T-500, everything working fine after plenty of reading on the forums. Have a couple of slight problems though.

Installed Hauppauge WinTV for the IR remote software, then uninstalled all the Hauppauge stuff except for the IR remote software. However when i press the "Go" button on the remote it still try's to open WinTV, and i get an error message saying the software is not installed. Is there anyway i can get it to automatically open GB-PVR?

Also i recorded a few programs (Which i transcoded to xvid via GB-PVR) i started watching them through GB-PVR and noticed when i fast forward with the remote, the picture narrows ( more black either side of the picture ). Is there anyway to stop this happening?

I dont remember the exact details, but you can edit the irremote.ini file to tell it start PVRX2.exe instead of WinTV. If you do a forum search you should be able to find some posts discussing the details.

I dont really know about this one. I've not seen any other reports of it.

I also:o can not open up GBPVR with the remote, so if you find I fix for this please let me know.

I'm pretty sure you just need to add the following to the appropriate section of irremote.ini, then restart ir.exe. If you need more details, do a forum search.

Under the default section of irremote.ini: (Mine is in c:\WINDOWS)

So, you can see that I commented out the original entry and added the gbpvr entry. If you're using 2K or XP, VFAT only recognizes 8.3 character file names so if your pvrx2 executable lives in the 'Program Files' dir, you need to specify Progra~1.
