xml duplicates question

quick question about xml files

I know theres options in gbpvr for sched direct etc when it comes to duplicate recordings - is it possible (a plugin, maybe?) to avoid duplicates when the xml data is identical? sky tv has a lovely habit of having the same show at least twice a day, and often after that...

anyone know of any plugins or what have you that might offer this functionality?

Its not good enough to look a the show title/subtitle/description to tell if it is a duplicate. The majority of shows just have these fields containing generic info, so couldnt be used for this task. For example "3 News" appears a couple of times a day with the same name/description. Another example "King of the Hill/Animated comedy about the life and times of propane salesmnan HankHills, his wife Peggy and son Bobby" for every episode.

GB-PVR is able to use special unique identifiers in xmltv files to avoid duplicates, but this info is pretty much only available in north american xmltv files.
