Everytime I map an additional channel in the config/capture sources tab, all epg channels are duplicated and added to the list of channels when the xlmtv.xml is updated. The result is a big mess, and the only way I've been able to fix it is to empty the epg in capture sources and start over again. It gets tiresome, since I have to map each one manually.

In effect, I can't edit the channel mapping. I can only start over each time I want to map and enable a channel that is already included, but not mapped or enabled in the channel list. Am I doing something wrong?

I'm using mc2xml to update xmltv.xml

Could it be that mapping channels on both tuners to the same channels causes the duplicates?

I'm going to try whurlston's HDHomeRunScanTool to see if I can automate this. I often have to map something additionally because the reception is rarely good enough to get all the channels I want at the same time.

I think that if you add the extra channels by importing an EPG then it is ok.
It is when you manually add a channel that it is considered to be a different channel to any existing one with the same name.

(not 100% sure about the above, but that is the impression ISTR from an earlier post).

Thanks. I don't actually add anything. I just map one that was previously not enabled. All looks good when I exit capture sources, but the guide then has two instances of every channel, and different channel numbers for each. When I go back into config and edit the capture sources, the duplicates are now shown.
