Help! I have 2 tuners Hauppauge HVR 4000 and PVR 150MCE installed at the same time under Vista 32 bit. The 4000 does digital tv fine as device1. The PVR150MCE also installes as device1. Tuning assistant sees the analog card (PVR150) and sets channels, but PVRX2 will only show the Digital tuner. The Device Type utility only sees the PVR150MCE as device1. It does not recognise the Digital card at all. Neither device will run with other settings than as device 1. What is hapening? What should I do?

The device type utility is only needed to tell the difference between a PVR250/350 and PVR150/500 since they reused the driver names, but changed the way the directshow filters hookup. Its not needed for other combinations of devices.

In your case, you PVR150 will be device #1, and the HVR4000 will also be device #1. The device numbers only increase when multiple devices use the same name.

The tuning assistant is only for analog devices. The only compatible analog device in you machine is the PVR150. The analog side of the HVR4000 isnt usable in GB-PVR due to the lack of hardware MPEG2 encoder.

When you change channels it prefers to stick with the currently in-use device, but only if it has the new channel. If you're finding it is using the analog device for a channel that should only be on the digital device, then I'm sure you'll find you've got that channel enabled on the analog device - ie, check the analog capture source channel list.
