Hi Martin,

well I didn't need to get as far as Alan!

What I hadn't noticed was that when I changed the path to altchnames.txt it didn't automatically add that file as an extension.

I had this:

C:\Program Files\XMLTV GUI\scripts\uk_rt

when I should have had this:

C:\Program Files\XMLTV GUI\scripts\uk_rt\altchnames.txt

Now this appears when I grab:

14:42:58 - Changing 'BBC1' --> 'BBC 1 London'
14:42:58 - Changing 'BBC2' --> 'BBC 2 England'
14:42:58 - Changing 'BBC3' --> 'BBC THREE'
14:42:58 - Changing 'BBC4' --> 'BBC FOUR'
14:42:58 - Changing 'Channel 4' --> '8350'
14:42:58 - Changing 'Film4' --> 'Film4'
14:42:58 - Changing 'Film4 +1' --> 'Film4 +1'
14:42:58 - Changing 'Five US' --> 'Five US'
14:42:58 - Changing 'ITV1 London' --> 'ITV1 London'
14:42:58 - Changing 'ITV2' --> 'ITV2'
14:42:58 - Changing 'ITV3' --> 'ITV3'
14:42:58 - Changing 'ITV4' --> 'ITV4'
14:42:58 - Changing 'Movies4Men' --> 'movies4men'

etc etc

Quite excited as somehting else for me to mess about with Big Grin

Now I'll have to see what happens with a rescan..........

Watch this space!

Excellent progress. I'll have to give a go myself. It could be handy for those channels that keep changing their names. Five Life, Fiver etc. And if I can bring the Radio Times ones into line with the broadcast names (as I think was your requirement) then it will be much easier if/when RT has a hickup and the broadcast EPG has to be brought into service.

Hi Martin,

just to let you know as per this thread:

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=35607

this really does work a treat. Thanks for the 'heads up' on it.
