Hello,

Having been a VMC user for some time and the fact that VMC does not support the MPEG4/DVB-T we have here in NZ I have been looking for a replacement product.

The only issue I have with GB-PVR (nice software by the way!) is it when I register monogram and start Live TV after a couple of seconds it returns to the main menu only breifly displaying a black screen.

Looking at the logs I see the following.

System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.

unregistering monogram allows Live TV to play (without sound)

I have tried versions v0.9.0.0 to v0.9.5.0.

I have a WinTV-HVR4000 TV card, Vista SP1, 1 GB RAM and Ati 2600PRO graphics card.

Anyone out there have a simular problem or a solution?

many thanks in advance

Can you reproduce the problem, then post the pvxr2.exe-native.log file?

Ok after looking at the right log :o I see the following. (log attached)

2008-05-10 08:28:18.773 VERBOSE getSetting(PreferredAACLATMAudioDecoder)
2008-05-10 08:28:18.785 VERBOSE AAC LATM audio decoder filter: MONOGRAM AAC Decoder
2008-05-10 08:28:18.785 VERBOSE getSetting(PreferredH264AudioDecoder)
2008-05-10 08:28:18.799 VERBOSE FindFilterByName failed to locate filter:

I copied the monogram filter to c:\windows\system32 and ran regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\mmaacd.ax everything was reported successful.

Am I missing something?

You can ignore that specific message. Its not used any more, and doesnt matter if its not found

Are you still getting the same crash shown in your original post? If so, can you post a matching set of both pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log

To be honest, I'm not really sure. Maybe try setting your audio renderer option back to system default instead of the Cyberlink audio renderer.

Just be aware as well that you may encouter issues with picture breakup using Vista and an ATI video card. There is a bug that is more than likelyu in the ATI Catalyst drivers which can result in pixelated video or corruption during playback or channel changed on interlaced channels.

This issue doesn't affact NVidia cards capable of H.264 (8500GT or higher)
