Maybe you were looking at some old log? There are so many, it's easy to get confused.. I removed my direct.ini just to see what happens and everything worked fine without it. Filemon (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/) shows that neither pvrx2.exe nor the recording service were trying to access that file. I think in your case it can only mean that graphrecorder isn't installed properly. Or it isn't selected as a capture source. Try copying DirectShowLib.dll to gbpvr's root directory (like c:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\), it's possible that graphrecorder can't find this dll.

Sorry for the dalay in responding...been working really late. OK, graph plays in GraphEdit (feel I am getting close and don't want to give up now). When I start Live TV I get 'No tuners available'.

Looking at the log files, PVRX2.exe.log looks like it is trying to use my graph -
Graph Recorder: loaded config for OID 2
Graph Recorder: Graph A Medium C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\Preview.GRF

The GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log is, for some reason, looking for a Hauppage card -
Loading filter names
Found names:
Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Crossbar
Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture
Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II TvTuner
Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II TvAudio
FiHauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Crossbar
Failed to find Crossbar filter

I don't doubt that my config is wrong, but I can't find detailed documentation. See attachments.

Preview graph is fine but all the others should be different. They should use MPEG video and audio encoders and write to a file. Take a look at the recording graph I posted earlier.
Something weird is happenning...you could have messed the program up earlier. I would remove the whole thing and set it all up all over again. Run the uninstaller first, then manually erase the directory (to remove non-native files). In command prompt type sc delete "gb-pvr recording service" . Theres a bug in uninstaller, it won't properly remove the service. After all that install it again, make sure you have only one capture source and the second graph for timeshifting/recording. Looking at the screens, the entry on "graph B" page is completely unnecessary. Maybe carpeVideo can comment on "unique device ID"? I am using only one capture card so I just left 1 there..

As suggested, I uninstalled and reinstalled the application. Live TV still tells me that there are no tuners available. I have include what I believe to be the relevant lines of the log files.

I have a couple of questions:
What are OID 1 and OID2?
Why is it starting the recording service and why channel 2?

Well, I walked away from this for a few weeks. Yesterday I installed the new version of gbpvr, created my graphs, and it is 'sort of' working. Many thanks to 'pivovy' for all his advice.

I had it working fine so I uninstalled WINDVR, which of course deleted my codecs. I reinstalled just the drivers and it still would not work. I reinstalled the WINDVR app and drivers and again it would not work. I launched WINDVR and then it started working again.

Sorry to be a nuisance, but does anyone have any ideas what this might be causing this?

Don't know if this helps:
When I boot and open my graph in graphedit, everything looks OK. After I try and run it the connection between my crossbar and capture codecs is lost and the connection between my capture and audio renderer codecs is also lost.
