Hi yall

using the config as per sig. Now, i have got a pace box to go with my motorola box for sky - however, i cant figure out how to make ir server suite allow two instances of remotes for the two boxes, and subsequently, gbpvr cannot send seperate codes to each box.

Basically i can just blast the motorola box codes, and the pace is in the dark.

Is there something i can add to the channel parameters to say, add a digit at the start of each channel press?

ie, i have the {channel} part, ideally i would like say, button 3 on my pace box to send 13 instead of 3, so i can program 13 into IR server suite for 3 on the pace remote... is this possible? that way i can just put a 1 ahead of all my pace box ir codes.

or will i have to ask the writer of ir server suite for a fix? googling doesnt help me, unfortunately.
Cheers Smile

didnt you look here under feature requests

you cant control both outputs yet with it
or is he talking about having 4 senders working hard to say

hip can do what you want Smile but heaps of people cant get it to work

there is also the built in one that has the options you want but people also complain about it not working either

what are you talking about, i can blast using both blasters independently? im also going to be using the same blaster to blast to both set top boxes, i just need to be able to make the numbers for each set top box different so ir server suite can send the correct codes... ie, i cannot have two instances of '0' to two different remote blasts from each different type of remote. If i could set one as digit '10' and the other as it is now, at '0' and have 10 blast the paces 0 and 0 blast the motorola 0, then it will all work correctly... i use my second ir blaster to control my stereo.

edit: i see your edit. Hate hip, far too unreliable and zero support. inbuilt blaster doesnt work well for me either. Ir server suite has been absolutely perfect, i just need to be able to get the right blasts to the right boxes. Have posted on ir server suite forums on media portal too.

I was able to use the MCEsend application to use either of the outputs on my MCE remote dongle I think - it's part of the alternate MCE remote driver.

I think it uses a text file which contains the codes. If you set it up as P0 (for pace, number 0 ) then I guess you could create some type of channel changer which allows you to choose either the 'M0' or 'P0' command to blast, and only the approriate decoder will respond.

Not real; sure if it can be run like this, but if you set the exe channel changer params to append the P or M to the channel numbewr, it may work. (or maybe not, as it would haver to append it to both of the numbers in the case of a 2 digit channel)

You could do this by writing a commandline program which references the same MCEsend program.
I did this for the USB-UIRT commandline software to split my channel numbers into 2 (as the recording service took control of my usb-uirt, and I couldn't use it to blast at my input source switch) - you could do that, and just make it append the P or the M (have 2 versions of it?)

I know that this is all very vague, but it may work. it;s the only way I could think of it working.

I'll dig out some code at home, and you should be able to just replace the command-line inside of it (I used the free, express edition of Visual Basic - available on the MS website)

Cheers

i dont think so
as gbpvr matches the channel name with the number and that number is what is sent to the changer so ithas no way of knowing whats what

only work around i could think of is to use the same ir blaster for your stereo and one set top box
but i know that you want to do that

Found the code I was looking for, but are you using an IR reciver as USB, or is it plugged into the mce card?

Also, what are the 2 remotes you have for sky? (ie do they look the same)
waht do the 2 boxes look like?

If you are using the usb mce kit like the pic, then it should work, but will be a PITA to get going.
Have a read of http://forums.dvbowners.com/index.php?showtopic=9133 and see if you are comfortable with this.
EDIT: This might not be needed, you may just install the replacement drivers)

If so, then you can use the replacement driver, which also has the mceIRrec & play commandline apps which would be needed for this solution.

It's a problem as you'd have to create 1 file for each button on the pace, then use my VB code to call mceIRplay (once or twice, or 3 times depending on how many digits are passed) to send the codes to the pace.

Again, very vague, and might not be reliable - but it may work.

You could leave the capture source for the motorola using the gbpvr native mce controller (you do have 2 x capture sources?)

MCE retail remote, USB - my pvr150 cards are MCE OEM models, dont come with the remotes, i have two of them installed (soon to be 3, borrowing another). The two set top boxes are different, ones a pace the others a motorola, different remote protocols. I can swap the motorolla over, which i may do today (Customer Service Administrator here at Skytv, so it doesnt cost me anything Wink and free sky is a bonus, of course!) - and just use the -port1 and -port2 extentions on each box, which would mean i cannot use the blasters for my reciever like i was doing, but i may look into building a 240v relay so when the TV is on, the stereo will be too...
