Hi, I've search the forum for the answer... i found the same question, date from 2006, with no answers following it, and now i have this problem:
All is good, except at bottom of screen, there is this green flashing stripe always there while watching tv. I have a good ol' CRT tv, set to 4x3 format.
I press F7 repeatedly, and there is 1 setting that is almost good, but then it cuts off the top of the screen by I would say 1/4 of the image, so that is not a good option for me. The Auto, or Fill options are the ones that seem like they would do best (they fit the entire image on the tv), but they result with this green flashing bar.
Also, this green flashing bar is actually below the tv image, in a black stripe. This black stripe is only at bottom of screen, not at the top (unlike when watching a wide screen movie on a 4x3 tv).

I tried VRM9, VRM7, and all other settings related to VRM9 with no good results.

Please help! I don't want to take the GBPVR system down, it is so awesome...

Thank you!

PS: PVR-150, GBPVR V1.2.13

Its most likely either the video decoder you're using or a bug in your video card drivers, so try different combinations/versions of these.

Ah, I wasted my entire Sunday trying to figure this out (wife pissed at me...), I finally post the question here, and I found the solution about 5 minutes after posting... I uninstalled 2 softwares that came with the Hauppauge installation CD: Ulead DVD factory or something like that, and MPeg editor for Hauppauge (again or something like that). I restart the system, and poof, perfect screen, no flashing stripe, just like it was before using GBpvr, except now i use it, and love it too.

Well, thanks for a quick reply Sub, but this time the problem was something really strange (I'd say), probably some conflict with one of those soft.

Anyways, anybody having those stripes, uninstall those 2 apps, and you're ready to go.

Thanks.

It was most likely the video decoder as I said above. Uninstalling those apps probably changed the system default MPEG2 decoder, causing a different decoder to be used in GB-PVR.
