I think she said, "How'd you do that?" when she saw the slick GUI and how easy it is to look at pictures, listen to music, and play videos. I got the spousal stamp of approval big time, thanks Sub!

For the time being, I'll just be using GBPVR w/o a tuner card, as I queried about in a previous thread. Well, it's working great except for a few minor, and I feel very solvable, glitches. I'm going to be researching and trying to fix them in the coming days.

Glitches I need to work out:

GBPVR freezes up when I try access the EPG. I'm not worried cause I think this is just because I don't have a tuner card yet.

I don't always get sound from video files encoded w/ DD or DTS, and I have one HD animation from the nasa website (voyage to the moon or something like that) that I have yet to get any sound out of. These files work great in window$ media player though. Confusedhrug:

I cant' get into the settings menu within PVRx2. Again, I have a hunch it's do to having no tuner card installed.

I'll be perusing this forum and probably trying out codecs to solve these problems. I'll post again with specific questions if I get stumped!Cool

Always handy to have the spousal approval...

If you create a "skin" subdirectory in the gbpvr install directory the Settings screen will work. I've fixed this for the next release.

K-lite codec pack (google it) adds quite a lot of tasty codecs, also I recommend Realplayer alternative and Quicktime alternative to support their file types.

As a bonus, and mostly for your wife, as my main system is essentially my wife's now, check out Community skin as a plugin to make the GUI even better looking then the basic one is.

Good luck dude, and if your wife is anything like mine, after 6 months there is no going back to "normal" tv. Cheers!
