I know I did this in GBPVR some time ago, but I have not been able to correct the channel info displayed in the TV Guide. I thought I could simply edit the Channel number under the Channels Tab of the config tool. Just change the channell number to the one I want displayed (US channel numbers do not match the actual channel sometimes), but when I click out of the field, the data goes right back to the original value.

I have a ATI HDTV card which does not scan for channels correctly, so I have to hand enter my tuning values manually, so I can not simply rebuild the database. Using SchedulesDirect EPG. Can I edit the database using Access or another tool.

Thanks in advance.

That's strange. In my case, I can change channel number but not the name. Maybe you tried to change to something like 7.1 which it won't let you do.
Anyhow, you can use this:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...ease_id=414746
to modify entries in gbpvr.db3.
Make backup first!

Thanks, I will give it a try. I think you can nevr change the name, it s how the channels are indexed, only the number. I was trying to add the minor channel number, but I thought I tried a standard number as well.

Just tried that link and it is broken. What is the name of the application? I started to search for Berkeley DB3 editors, but not coming up with much for Windows, Can SQL2005 or MySQL open them? Thanks.

Sorry, my mistake. There is free SQLite Database Browser:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles..._id=414746
which you can use to modify gbpvr.db3.

I just managed to modify both channel number and name.Big Grin
I am using yapixml for my EPG. Yapixml gives me for example EPG for channel 261 named WXYZDT. On my TV it is channel 7 (7.1 exactly). So I wanted it to be identified as ch7 ABC-HD. I changed number in Config-Channels.
I changed name in gbpvr.db3 using editor.
If you want to do it, open gbpvr.db3 in the editor, go to "Browse Data" tab, display "Channel" table and double click on a cell in "display_name" column. Type new name and save.

I modified the names yesterday, everything looks OK now, time will tell if it stays that way.

That is exactly my situation. I am using only terrestrial TV, and I have some channels that have several sidebands, 44.1,44.2 etc and to make it worse, I am picking up duplicate networks (ABC NH and ABC Boston) which have different content, so I want to be able to watch either. I am hoping changing the names does not mess up my EPG syncing. Thanks for the link!!
