I thought I'd noticed this once or twice, but ignored it - but now I can reproduce it on both machines all the time.

Set up a recording via TV Guide with pre-padding.

When it starts recording, but before the programme start time (i.e. in the pre-padding timeslot) - cancel the recording from the "pending recordings" screen.

The recording disappears from the pending list as expected, but doesn't appear in the "new" list as normally happens. Also the tray icon is still green and the file is still on disk and growing. At this point I restarted the recording service and it stopped recording, but still didn't appear in teh "new" or "pending" lists. The file is still there on disk as an orphan

logs attached.
show is "heartbeat" real start time 17:40, pre-padding 1 minute.
recording service shows it as starting recording at 2008-07-09 17:38:57.468
pvrx2 shows the cancel somewhere around 17:39:16

regards
Martin

Anyone else notice this?
This morning a scheduled recording of "Live MotoGP" started and for this it has 15 minutes pre-padding. I spotted that it was an EPG error (It isn't really on) when the server started up while I was in the shack. I went into pending recordings and cancelled it and it went from the pending list, but didn't appear in the 'new' list. The tray icon is green and the file is still on disk and increasing in size as I speak.

I can't restart server as someone is viewing elsewhere.]

EDIT: slight update. The recording does appear in the "new" list when it has run to the end. Normally it would appear there when cancelled.

Its still to be tested, but I've put in a fix for this in the next release.
