I've inserted some recordings with vidimport into the main database. They show up when using the sqlite browser and they show in the recordings section of PVRX2. They play and everything is great until the next morning when they're gone.

What is removing them? Is it related to what goes on at the UpdateEPG time? They are inserted as corresponding to a channel that I don't have set up - is that why?

A related question that arises after looking at the gbpvr.db3 data is what determines the group title for a group of recordings. Does it come from the folder name? Does it come from the leading part of the title of the recordings? It looks like the recordings are kept in RECORDING_SCHEDULE and are grouped by recording_group.

I hope this is the right area to ask this. It's more of a "How does the pvrx2 database work?" than a how do I fix vidimport type of question.

Some research points me to metadata.xml Is this where the recording group title is kept?

AFAIK they get removed if the drive, directory and filename can't be found every so often when the recordingservice does it's housekeeping. There is a flag in config.xml that stops their removel (mainly of use if the recordings are on an external usb/net drive that might not be ready when the system starts up).

<AutoRemoveMissingRecordings>true</AutoRemoveMissingRecordings>

That is probably it. They are on a remote drive, and they should always be there, but perhaps during backup or some other intensive operations they can't be seen.

Thie folder name comes from the title of the program the recordings are linked to. They dont necessarily need to be in the same recording_group.
