Map digital channels error

Tried to add another digital channel to my epg tonight and got an error when mapping digital channels to epg channels.

Looking at the config native log I saw this at the end:-

The getSetting(PreferredH264Decoder) seemed to be the problem line.

Looking at the config.xml file there is no such setting. There is a PreferredH264VideoDecoder, however.

I added in a line with PreferredH264Decoder and it then worked.

This used to work so I am wondering how the error has now appeared? I note that the older config files don't have the offending line, either.

You're right that it was trying to use the incorrect setting name during the scan, and I've corrected this for the next release. In the vast majority of cases it wouldnt cause any problem though, since it would just cause the app to use the system default H.264 decoder. If you're getting error it must mean that directshow is making a bad choice of H.264 decoder from those available on your machine. Your system default H.264 decoder was probably different in the past when it worked well.

Thanks, sub, for the explanation. I did try 'system default' (had cyberlink selected) for the decoder but got the same error. As you say, something has changed to stuff up the default selection - not sure what, but that doesn't matter!
