I wonder if I can get some help to get the Live TV at GBPVR PC client working with my server.

The problem I have is that I cannot play any live TV on my client PC from either the Live TV menu and TV Guide menu. All I got is a blank window when playing live TV.

I have looked at the wiki documentation about the MUX and the MPEG-2 decoder configurations. I tried all available MPEG-2 decoders from my client PC and they all gave me a blank window when playing the live TV.

I believe the server is configured properly as when I started watching live TV from client PC, I can see the buffer TS file was created with increasing file size, and I can use third party media player to play those TS files.

However, the client PC doesn't seem to want to play those files and the most common error I got from the "PVRX2.exe-native.log" is "ERROR DirectShowHelperVMR9::playFile() - Waited ten seconds, and file size is still zero!!!". I am definitely sure the file isn't in zero size and I can watch them from other media players.

I have tried changing the client mode from "steaming" to "file access" which will require proper share folders setup for TV buffering and recording, still the same result with the error from PVRX2.exe complaing cannot access the TS files.

I am zipping all logs in case you need to look into it. Thanks!

ISTR reading that .ts files weren't supported with client server.

The stream mode isnt compatible with .ts files at this stage.

The file share mode would usually work, but it looks like you need to run the reregisterfilters.bat file:

I got it working, with you guys help! Thanks!

I didn't know that the TS file is not supported yet by "steaming" client mode. I did tried the "file access" mode Sub, but the performance is not good.

As the server is running Windows Server 2003, it doesn't have the Microsoft DVR-MS multiplexer and hence not nable to supply MPG file for steaming. I managed to download some 3rd thirdparty MUX filters from the link given by MartinT123, thanks Martin! And got them working on the Windows Server 2003 for MPG steaming.

The Live TV is now working on PC client. One little thing I wonder is that the CPU time is constantly over 50% when I am playing the Live TV with MPV/MPA decoders on a Pentium M 2.13GHz laptop, not sure if it is normal?

Since using our Freeview DVB-S, you could try using the Cyberlink mux so you can try .mpg files with the streaming mode. If you give this a go, I'd recommend trying the Cyberlink mux v5.0.0.1307.

Admittedly live tv is never great streaming to another machine. Nowhere near as good as locally on the machine.
