Hi,

I upgraded to 1.2.13 Thursday night, without any problems other than having to manually create a skin folder.

I posted an issue with Net Radio, which Sub says is because of Shoutcast changing something, but I found another issue: When I tried to use LiveTV in the menu, the screen goes black for a few seconds, then returned to the main menu. Nothing else happened.

I checked the support threads and found a post suggesting that 'Use Live Preview Mode if possible' should be checked, and deinterlacing should be 'encoder pass through'. Both these have been set all the time in the config settings.

I've read in other support posts about using C:/temp, but my root drive is H:. Hopefully the C:\temp is not hard coded.

My LiveTV buffer file is supposed to be being built in my I:\ drive, where it used to be built last version ( a separate physical disk).

After adjusting the Live TV buffer folder, and making a root temp folder, Live TV works now. I then deleted the temp folder, and it still works. I don't really know what else I affected, but I figured there might be a glitch somewhere.

I have attached my GBPVR logs below.

Unfortunately thats not a great set of logs and I cant see the problem happening, but restart the app, then reproduce the problem and repost the logs and I'll take another look.

If you've got 'use live preview mode if possible' checked, then it doesnt need a buffer directory.

If you're not using live preview mode, then it needs a buffer directory. You can specify where you want this to be in the config app's "Directories" tab. Its not hardcoded.

Actually... I can see this one error occurring in your logs:

Quote:2008-09-14 12:40:07.245 VERBOSE [1] System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:7968

This makes me think either your GBPVR Recording Service wasnt running, or you have some firewall software running on your machine that is getting in the way of communication between the PVXR2.exe and GBPVRRecordingService.exe.

This is interesting because I was having basically the same issue and I confirmed it late last night . . . I reformatted the IDE drive and reinstalled Vista and GBPVR -> the use live preview mode was checked and I didn't need the c:\Temp directory.

When I remove the IDE drive and install a SATA drive and then format, install Vista, and then install GBPVR then the use live preview mode is NOT checked and I need the c:\Temp directory.

This is the exact same machine, same Vista install disc, same everything - the only variable is changing from a 40gb IDE drive to a 750gb SATA drive.

Why would this be? It seems that somehow changing the drive affects how GBPVR Config sets up the default parameters. Does GBPVR check something to determine if it should check that option by default?

No it doesnt. The default settings are those in the config-master.dont-edit-me.xml file. Config.xml is made from a copy of this file the first time the config app runs.
