How did you get on with this? It looks like it may come in use when I hang PVRX2.

Hi MBUK et al, I wanted to update the thread with my success.

1. I had problems getting tskill to work correctly under XP, so I Googled "pskill" and downloaded the SysInternals PSTools from Microsoft. Expanded the ZIP in a known location c:\Tools\Microsoft\pstools.

2. I created a new batch file gbpvrkill.bat. Contents are only one line:

"c:\Tools\Microsoft\pstools\pskill PVRX2.exe"

3. I couldn't figure out any way to add my batch file directly to the XP Start Menu, so I created a shortcut to the batch file and pinned that to the start menu instead.

4. In accord with the posted Microsoft link, I associated "ctrl-alt-k" with gbpvrkill.bat using the pinned shortcut start menu properties.

My only testing thus far has been configuring GB-PVR to open PVRX2 in a window, then verifying that ctrl-alt-k killed it as expected. It seems to work well, so hopefully this will do the trick next time PVRX2 hangs while running FSE.

Enjoy!

Last night, PVRX2.exe froze up while watching ATSC broadcasts. Wouldn't respond to remote or keyboard commands at all.

I tried the old "ctrl-alt-k" trick, and it worked like a charm. I got my WinXP GUI session back and could successfully restart PVRX2 without incident.

Good news for anyone using Fullscreen Exclusive, IMO.

Do you mean "tskill?" It didn't work out of the box, but I didn't try very hard. I just downloaded pskill and that did work out of the box.

Just call me "Path Of Least Resistance" Braklet. Wink
