has anyone had any success with converting the .TS file into a m2ts file that the ps3 can play?

Or even a mp4 file?

I'm having so many problems that I'm beginning to think if the HD PVR is even worth it anymore.

The included arcsoft converter doesn't work, the m2ts files don't play correctly.

I managed to demux the .264 + aac file (using tsmuxer) from the .TS file but sony vegas 9 Platinum can not load the .264 file, keeps giving me errors saying that the file is unknown but i can open it in Powerdvd.

You don't need to do any conversion actually. Since what your doing is almost exactly what I do, I'll try to detail how mine works.

Load the HDPVR with the beta drivers that include AC3 encoding (this is what prevented the PS3 from playing the sound before). Install Microsoft's graphedit and load the Hauppauge HDPVR Encoding filter and change to Simple GOP 4/32/128 on the Encoder Development tab.

Then take the file that GBPVR records as a .ts and simply rename the extension to .m2ts and it plays upon downloading (I use HFS http server) through the PS3 browser. If you want auto file extension renaming you have to create PostProcessing.bat in your GBPVR directory and then add a few lines to it. If you have multiple drive letters you might wish to add the C: or D: or whatever to change to the right drive in the file but I think move would work right anyhow. (move.exe being used in WinXP in my case)

@echo off
move %1 %1.m2ts

For the http server part, as I said I use HFS and have my entire recording directory as the files it serves. This allows me to use the browser on the PS3 to simply find the files I want to download to it (it won't stream them with that server) and then play them from it's own hard drive. It recognises anything with the m2ts extension as a movie file and list's them accordingly. Simply browse to the actually file listing you want, then hit the triangle button and download the file to the PS3.

If you have any more questions, I'll try to answer them.
