I have reinstalled windows after tvpack messed up my hvr-4000 and I have everything up and running again with a new HVR-2200 except I cannot for the life of me get Hardware acceleration working again.

I am using PowerDVD 8 for H264. I have usepowerDVDforTS enabled and haved ticked Use DxVA, but it will not work for either live TV or recorded TV. If I playback a TV3 TS file directly in PDVD8 it uses acceleration and CPU usage is arounf 5%, but under GBPVR it sits at around 60%.

Some versions of the Cyberlink H.264 decoder need registry settings added to enable hardware acceleration. I cant remember the exact details, but do a forum search and you should find info about it.

Its usually pretty obvious looking at the CPU usage, particularly with H.264 channels (very high vs very low).

Ok, I got it going by following what someone else did in another thread. It seems setting DxVA is exe specific, so it was applying it to config.exe and not pvrx2.exe. Swap the names over, go into pvrx2.exe (which is really config.exe) and tick DvXA, swap the names back and hey presto, it works.

did the same but no difference (which means it was working before). I think the default is dxva on and interlace on (auto). A noticible difference only if I set the values for pvrx2 to 0.
