Thanks, I got the file and it pixelates, macroblocks etc with the PCH but it didn't crash perhaps it is just a matter of the hardware demux giving up after this goes on for a period of time, not just one file? Because of this I don't think sending it to Syabas will help.

The file itself reports a bad time line and none of the tools I have to clean it even work. If you play it with mplayer or vlc you can see errors on pretty much throughout.

About all I can say is that it does play better on the code I am experiementing with (pauses without pixelization like on GBPVR) but I would concentrate on getting error free streams.

(zehd since you ask for ts samples for the mvp this is a good example of what to expect in difficult situations, multiple audio pids, and it als show use of the afd going from wide screen to 4:3 even though the resolution stays at 544x576)

Martin

Thanks for all your help with this. I see what you mean when playing the file in Mplayer, it is really odd. It appears to be far more exaggerated in Mplayer than when watching it live.

I will have check what is causing the errors in the streams.

Thanks again, and I am really looking forward to the NMT integration release.

Ok just had some success, it might be a stroke of luck but the family have just been able to watch a film from start to finish but NMT screen froze in the adverts after the film had finished.

When I checked the stream in Mplayer it did seem a lot cleaner which maybe co-incidence or hopefully is due to some updates to Mdapi and Gbox. I suppose only time will tell.

Thanks again Martin for your pointers.

Ian

It would be nice if the NMT didn't require a reboot after a crash... but all I can see in the recording service log is that GBPVR has recieved a stop request for Live TV.

That sounds like the problem related to the timeline, some mpeg-ts streams timeline are only valid during the broadcast itself. Once set of samples I get shows a constant break in the timeline every 26 hours. Over the weekend in different discussions, psycik and Sheik Yerbouti have reminded me that there is a problem in the October firmware causing mpeg-ts crashes. werner from Syabas has said this is fixed in the next firmware (without really elaborating on the cause) and the fact that I am using this as beta, might also explain why my system played your sample file ok (three times).

Those logs wouldn't show the crash, the MVP server will loss connection andthe the NMT and issue a connection lost message after a timeout.

I was looking at the release note for the upcoming firmware and I noticed this

16. Fixed "TS with stream6 as teletext playback cause out of memory"

In your sample file I see this

m> pid[2]= 0x0917(0x06) - streamtype6 with 2 descriptors: 0x56 0x52
m> tpid[2]= 0x0917(0x06) (desc = 0x56) = teletext

so keep your fingers crossed.

I don't like to announce dates. I'm still playing around and it might even take a release or two of GBPVR.
