I have an A-110 with the newest firmware and have the following problems:

1) I can't figure out how to play a DVD rip folder. If I either select the .dvd item or press Play on the parent folder nothing happens. Do I have to turn these into ISOs or MKVs?

2) I can't get DTS-HD or Dolby TrueHD passthrough from MKV via HDMI to work. I always get just plain DTS and DD. I have the newest firmware and have the HDMI audio settings of "DTS: DTS-HD (Raw)" and "Dolby: Digital (Raw). I am using the same HDMI connection that I just used for my PC which passes through both of these fine so it is not an AVR problem. Has anyone been able to get this to work?

3) If I play a TS recording and then an MKV with VC-1, the MKV plays back all pixelated and the playback won't go back to normal until I reboot the A-110. H.264 MKVs never seem to have this problem and the problem doesn't surface with VC-1 until I play back a TS/MPEG2 recording.

Thanks for any help.

Sub never implemented playback of the .dvd file in NextPVR however the folder should work but you have to set up a share in NPVR.cgi (or play via the native interface.

I personally have only tested via .m2ts

I haven't notice this but it is possible, I can check the mkv samples I have for VC1. I you exit back to the NMT native player from mvpmcx2 do they play poorly too?

Here is the link to the program I wrote to help with creating scripts for your shares on your local PC. http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...ipt-helper

I'll check out your utility - thanks. I first noticed the VC-1 problems happening when playing directly from the native player without NPVR involved.

Another thought for VC1 would be .m2ts The native interface uses file sharing and not http so it is more bandwidth limited, .m2ts If you play .ts or mpeg with the native player I don't no.

If you do play a lot of HQ mkv and your TV's can handle 24 fps try setting up the auto framerate to NTSC/24.

I will have to do more testing, but it does seem like .m2ts solves most of my problems. I didn't see the VC-1 pixelation issues and DTS-HD and TrueHD bitstreaming seem to work with them while still not with MKV. Strange.

I can't seem to get this to work. I have added the share in NPVR.cgi with the output of your tool. But there is no response when I press play when the parent folder is selected. The folder rip is a couple folders deep from the share I added to NPVR.cgi (e.g. share is "M:\Movies" but the folder rip is "M:\Movies\Kids\Tinkerbell". Do I have to create a share at a lower level?

Getting a share running is the hardest thing to configure since there is nothing intuitive about it. Is your M: drive local or a share on another drive?

Upload the npvr.cgi (edit out the password) and the logs showing your attempt to play the file. You should also be able to telnet to your PCH and type

ls /mnt/M\:\\Movies

To get a directory list of your movies
