@fatman_do Screenshots of the Blue skin looks so dull and flat. Couldn't Haity make some JPGs with a 3D feeling, clear blue style for main menu and background that can be used for screenshots and donate the JPGs to Sub?

Any suggestions for the "system" picture?

Much better in Firefox now. As to the dull and flat comments, I think you may have mis-understood my reasoning. It isn't the point when discussing the features of a program to showcase 3rd party features from the beginning. They are a great add-on, and don't get me wrong, I am not trying to downplay Mayhem III's return. However, wouldn't it be more prudent to showcase the program "as is" instead of "how it can be".

If sub want's to include custom images, fantastic. Just think of all the posts of "How come my screen doesn't look like xxxxxx" if no screenshots are default. The product is GB-PVR. It should showcase it above everything else.

Hope I didn't offend.

My 2 cts: I completely agree with Fatman, it may be my age, but I rather like the default blue skin. I say this just to make clear everybody has his own taste. But most important I think is to show GBPVR as it comes out of the box. I think the goal should be to show what GBPVR is/does and not to have it look as nice as possible to "sell" as much as possible.
I think the page looks nice though, quite simple and telling what it should.

One more note: I noted a misspelling in the features list: It says: Internet brower and VLC client. I think brower needs an s.Smile

No, I don't get offended easily.
..... as i wrote in one of my first posts, the screenshots can be easily changed.
The "features" page started as a simple hml files to show mote screenshots for Mayhem3 at the wiki mayhem3 skin page. If you click at "see more screenshots" you will see that page.
http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Skin/Mayhem3
Then I have written a little more on features description every now and then.

I just threw this page in, because as a first time visitor to the GBPVR page, I would want to know what it all about including plugins, skins and utilities.
.....in 2 minutes....not digging in forums and wiki to find out things

I remember back in 2004 when I first tried to install plugin and skins (by Tipstir I think) how frustarated I was, because of all the versions of CommonGBPVRUtilities.dll and how bad the skins where. Crashes and Red X's all the time. Thats why I started to skin also....because of the bad quality of the skins at that time. In my opinion Blue was a "locked" skin and still is. I guess thats why your doing a great job working on the Community skin.
I still think that the add-on parts for GBPVR are unorganized and would see changes that would make things easier for both programmers and end users.

It is up to Sub what he wants as a web page....he can edit my suggestion page as he wants. This is just my suggestion and opinions.
Best Regards

Hans

Blue in reality on a big screen and Blue as a small screenshot are 2 different things to the viewer.

On Subs web page that he had before the Jomla page, he has screen shots from different plugins ans skin, so I don't think he is limited to show only the "product" :-)

Thank for pointing out the spelling. I will open the page in Frontpage... and do some spell checking.
Best Regards

You are probably right although this would apply to every skin I guess.
But really no need to hassle about that.Wink
Just for info: it works ok in Opera aswell now.

Just for my curiosity: You made this in Frontpage? Didn't it add automatically Document Type information to the top of the page?
Something like:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"

This is my idea of a GBPVR web page.
Very simple....just one htm page edited in Blocknote. But it does the job.
Have a look at the version history...... I have collected over the years.
Changing the screenshots in the features page .... is easily done.
I will work some more on the PowerPoint system picture ..... just a mockup now.
