I'm having a similar problem with the red X and the similar error message on the screen. It happened when I tried to switch from Slick Skin back to blue skin within settings using pvrx2. It won't change back to blue skin. I tried using config.exe to change back to blue skin. Config.exe says its blue skin, but when I run pvrx2 its still in slick skin....

Here is the original slick skin that you can use to refresh or repair your slick skin

Also...check C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\media

If you have a menuart folder, it's possible something inside is corrupt or missing.

Renaming, deleting the folder will force GB-PVR to use default blue skins.

This will get you to default blue slick...

I used to ask 'why?' Now I just reinstall...

Using the setting screen to change to/from the slick skin is a known problem, but it shouldnt stop you from being able to change it in the config app.

If the config app shows it as using the blue skin, but its not, then start the app and post the pvrx2.exe.log and I'll take a look.

sc delete "gb-pvr recording service" and update msi install works fine then. http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=33744&page=2

Have created the right paths + addnal directories and each has a jpg file in it.. Have tried opening in windowed mode - no difference..
Am I missing something ? runtime ?

separate e logs for blue and slick attached ...
TIA

I also get a similar problem.

After finally updating to 1.3.7 after all the issues with Comodo memory firewall I get a crash when I try to edit the "Slick" skin options.

I can choose Slick in the config and it will work but once pvrx2 is loaded If I try to activate the "Skin" menu item, pvrx2 crashes.

The only way to exit is to press Windows Key -> L -> L to log off windows.

As pvrx2 is quitting I see a white box with a red cross through it flash on the screen.

I'm confused about folders.

In GVPVR, I have \skin and \skin2. They both have a blue folder. Only \skin2 has slick. If I download Frank Z skin.zip where do I put the contents?

I still cannot get blueskin back with the config.exe. Here is the pvrx2.exe.log. It says slick is active, but my config.exe says I selected blue.

PVRX2.exe uses the newer 'skin2' directory. The older, now defunct, GBPVR.exe used the 'skin' directory. The only exception is if you run any old legacy plugins in PVRX2.exe, as these will still pickup their specific skin stuff from the 'skin' directory.

My guess is you're on Vista, and its file protection is getting in the way. Try deleting the "c:\users\<your account>\appdata\local\virtualstore\program files\devnz" directory, then try running pvrx2.exe again.

Sub,

I renamed the directory. It changed it back to blueskin. So now lots of plugin changes are missing. Can I just copy the contents to the newly created directory? Or is there a way to fix file protections on the old directory?

Thx, Howard
