First HD recording - failure!

I was watching DWTS and live it looked fine, so I pressed the record button. Came back later to watch the recorded file, nothing but blue screen and hiss! It is an .mpg file - I thought HD was supposed to record directly to disk in a .ts file? Mabye I'm totally off, so any input would help!

OH - and the TV buffer is working, because I can pause and play at will.

Sounds like you have that channel enabled in one of your analog capture sources.

OK - just to be clear, only digital channels should be enabled on my digital tuners, and only analog should be enabled on my analog tuners??

You say that it appears that my analog tuner tried to record the show? What tuner was I watching it on? I would think it would try to record it on the tuner I was watching it on!

What times were the recording supposed to start/stop.

7:00pm to 8:30pm. Last night I unchecked all digital channels from my analog cards, and unchecked all analog channels from my digital cards, and when I tried to watch Live TV on a digital station, it said there were no tuners available, did I want to watch NCIS (which happened to be recording then!).

Is there a walk through on getting analog and digital tuners set up and channels assigned?
