yesterday we had several short power cuts, off for 30 secs then on for 30 secs 3 or four times. This had the effect of shutting down the pc running GBPVR and the MVP. Now when I try and play a movie (AVI or MPG) it runs for several minutes then goes black screen then eventually reboots. Looking at the log it appears that the MVP looses connection:

2008-11-21 20:37:35.333 VERBOSE [6] MVP request processed
2008-11-21 20:37:35.333 VERBOSE [6] MVP waiting for data
2008-11-21 20:37:35.364 VERBOSE [6] MVP connection is gone.
2008-11-21 20:37:35.364 VERBOSE [6] MVP Control Thread shutting down....
2008-11-21 20:37:35.364 VERBOSE [6] MVP Control Thread shutdown finished

does this look like the MVP has somehow been corrupted?? I have reinstalled GBPVR just to check that, but no luck!

I have loaded gbpvr onto another pc and it seems to work fine! is there any other error logs on GBPVR as opposed to MVP log which just says connection lost?

Or how can I completely remove GBPVR including registry then try clean install? might be worth uninstalling the MS related Disptributable as well???

Elmo.... looks like you may have been closer than I previously thought.

I reset the upstairs and downstairs switches and hey presto now appears to work fine..... the other pc (the one that worked) was upstairs the other downstairs.

thanks again my daughter is happy again! Smile
