I have a slight problem where PCH wont connect to my GBPVR server.

I issue the WOL command through the PCH which wakes the server without issue but mvpmcx2 wont launch the interface and the PCH just return to the main interface.

I have tried a PC client to connect the the GBPVR server and this connected fine.

If I reboot the GBPVR server then all is OK.

Currently running 1.4.7 but the previous version of GBPVR was the same.
Also running mvpmcx 2 2.5 installed through the NMT Community Installer.

I have attached the logs, but nothing has been written to them with the latest attempt to connect.

It sounds like you need more than 30 seconds from the WOL to the time the server is ready. Figure out how many more seconds you need and modify the script by adding the sleep command ie

...
ether-wake ...
sleep 10
...

Martin I dont think that is the case because if I try to connect again after the PCH has cycled and the GBPVR server is confirmed up and running it still doesnt work.

It still is possible, GBPVR could have been partially up. Try a large sleep value like 120 and see if that works and then work backwards. I will add a parameter onto mvpmcx2 to add to the 30 seconds, to avoid sleep for the next release since you won't be able to avoid it.

I will give it a shot and let you know, not sure what you mean in your last sentence though, are you saying its best not to sleep the GBPVR Server?

If you have to add 20 seconds of sleep this command will activate everytime you start GBPVR even if the server is running, which I would find annoying. By able to extend the 30 seconds to say 50, via an mvpmcx2 command line option, it will continue to connect within a few seconds if the server is already up.

You must be a mind reader ! - This was on my mental list to put on a wish list at some point and for exactly this reason.

My server wakes in time about 25% of starts, so it looks like that for me an extra 5 seconds would probably be enough.

When the option is there don't worry too much about fine tuning the timeout, 5 seconds extra or 25 it will just take what it needs. I simply choose 30 seconds because I figured that was long enough for new users with firewall problems etc, plus it gives me enough time to start or restart the recording service when I'm testing.

Been trying this over the last few days with 10 second delay, and yes it looks like it has done the trick, I also had to clear the cache on the PCH but guess this had no effect on the problem.
