I have removed and added them and it looks fine at first, then when I exit and go back into config, both analog tuners are again showing up as Direct Recording Plugin. However, if I edit the source, it is listed as Analog recording plugin!!

Also, I cannot record one analog show and watch another - says no tuning devices available. And yes, the SHARED_NAME entries are in the bda.ini file.
My bda.ini relevant section - however, I just realized this has nothing to do with watching 2 shows on analog (correct?). MUST be related to the analog mess. What gets me, is there IS NO Direct Recording Plugin to pick from, so where is it getting this option??

[Hauppauge HVR-2250]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
SHARED_NAME=Hauppauge HVR2250

FILTER_CAPTURE=Hauppauge WinTV-7164 BDA Digital Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

[Hauppauge HVR-2250 (QAM)]

FILTER_TUNER=Hauppauge WinTV-7164 BDA ATSC/QAM Tuner

Removed it, exited config. Ran config, added it back as an analog recording plugin, looked fine, exited config, ran config, back to direct recording plugin?!?!?!

Direct recording plugin means Directshow recording plugin. Analog uses the Direct.ini file. Digital is the BDA recording plugin which uses the BDA.ini file.

Perhaps I shouldn't speak for sub, but I think that's just a cosmetic issue; one of the names is probably the 'old' name, and it's still lurking in some of the code. The BDA Recording Plugin also seems to be called 'Digital Recording Plugin' sometimes.

So - this is normal? Why then did it not let me record 2 analog shows at the same time?

I suspect this is correct. It's easy to see what's going on if you look in gbpvr.db3 with an SQL browser - there's a table that lists all sources and a table that lists only the BDA digital sources.

The BDA stuff and BDA.ini settings are digital and have nothing to do with watching multiple analog channels.

For background: Each source has guide data that defines the channel names and tuning data to tune to each channel it can receive. If two sources have the ability to tune to the same channel, and the name of that channel is the same in the guide data for both sources, then that channel shows up only once in the Guide listings, but can be tuned to with either source.

Did you set up the analog capture devices as device #1 and device #2 in config?

Just ignore it - its not causing any problems.

Analog capture sources will be listed as the 'direct recording plugin' on the capture sources tab. Digital capture sources will be listed as the 'BDA recording plugin' on the capture sources tab. I'll update this screen in the future. It does this because the plugins were renamed to make things easier (ie "analog ..." is better than "direct ..."), but I forgot to update this one place the names are displayed.
