canceling scheduled recording

dumb question, but here goes. In TV guide, I can choose to record either a single episode, reoccuring timeslot, or the entire season (there may be more options, but this is what I have in my head).

Now to cancel a recording, it appears that I only have the option of canceling a single occurance, so now I go and delete individual occurances, or just delete them as they get recorded.

am I missing something?

Go to the Recordings screen, click 'recurring' and cancel it from there.

In Recordings, look in "Recurring" to cancel the recurring scheduled recordings.
