Ive been using GBPVR for years, however its always been on the MVP and NEVER on the PC. This is the first time ive loaded this on a PC...

I cant get it to work on a PVR150 Low Profile card...

Installed card (seems to work fine, no errors), installed GBPVR (v1.3.7), loaded 2 plug ins (weather and Webcams, both work no problems). Into CONFIG-Capture Sources and add each "Composite" and "S-Video" both on the same card, no EPG on either of them. I added 1 channel for each (as i guess they both will need at least 1 channel to select to watch), then closed config.

Go to PVR2, webcam works, weather works, go to watch live TV, it halts...., now ive never used GBPVR like this before, its always been record then playback on MVP and thats worked fine.

So do i need MPG decoders on the system to watch live (in this case Composite input)? and if so where do i get them?

I cant watch stanard MPG stuff through Media Player either so its cant decode MPG2 as it is.... ideas???
Many Thanks
Ashley

UPDATE, i changed in the CONFIG-Playback under MPEG-2 Playback both the Video and Audio Decoder to MPEG Video Decoder and MPEG Audio Decoder. Restarted PVR2 and now when i try to watch TV it just flashes black screen for about 1 second then back to the menu...

Smells like a CODEC issue then (90% hit?) if so where do i get MPEG2 decoders that are good for XP 64bit?
Many Thanks
Ashley

UPDATE:
Just found something odd, this install WAS being used as a client from a server so the box Client/Server was ticked, i cant seem to stop this install being a client, when i untick this and as it has its own capture device now, when i double click the tray Icon its still pulling the status from the server rather than its own capture card.

How do i stop this being a client, taking a tick out of the box "client server" doesnt seem to do this... Closing the tray and re-opening it doesnt do it either...
Many Thanks
Ashley

I used to find this when my playing around machine was switching between client and server regularly. ISTR I had two config.xml files that I switched round - I think there may be something getting set in there that doesn't get properly unset. Try deleting (or better renaming) config.xml to see if that sorts it out. (also search to see if there is another hidden away and getting found).

You will need an mpeg decoder as all forms of PVR150 to automatic mpeg encoding (which is why they so popular). This one seems popular

along with it's MPA audio brother.

Ive installed WINDVD (whcih seems good for MEPG2 files).

However there is a line in the config file:
<RecordingServiceLocation>tcp://jumpgate:7968/RecordingRemote</RecordingServiceLocation>

Which i have changed to:
<RecordingServiceLocation>tcp://127.0.0.1:7968/RecordingRemote</RecordingServiceLocation>

As it was on the working "server" which uses the local machine only (new install).....

Which has FIXED the local tray icon (its now showing the local PVR150 Low Profile card in puts (as set up in the Capture area in Config)...

Keep you posted here.

Thanks for that, I'll bear it in mind. - maybe one for sub to check in the config utility to set back if a 'client' is then set back to a server' (it seems to work the other way).
