Thank you very much, sub. Smile I installed that patch and now the recordings play back properly, with video and audio.

I'm having one other problem. I haven't been able to get GBPVR to use the HDPVR's IR blaster. I know I can set up channel changing in config, under "Capture sources" >> "Edit" >> "Channel Changer". Which option should I choose from that drop down list, and then what settings should I use?

You need to setup the IR Blaster in the Hauppauge BlastCFG utility, then set your GB-PVR capture source to use the '.exe channel changer' point at HaupBlast.exe in the gbpvr directory.

That said, there are some problems with HDPVRs IR Blaster that can sometimes cause the device to lockup.

OK, thanks. I did what you said, and I got GBPVR to use the IR blaster. But now I think I might be having the exact problem that you just mentioned. It might be locking up. I scheduled a one-minute recording, and then it seemed to record, but then when I tried to play it back I got no video and no audio. I checked the directory; it did create a file of 17.5 MB. I tried playing that file in VLC and again got no video and no audio.

The device doesn't completely lock up after the IR blaster is used. After GBPVR changes the channel once, it is able to change the channel again. Or when you said "lock up", did you mean that the video/audio aspect of it locks up?

I saw some other threads where people said they used firewire or another IR blaster instead of the HDPVR's blaster. Would you recommend that?

I've zipped and attach the logs again, if you're interested.

I dont know. I've never seen it myself. The early sample HD-PVR I got didnt have an IR Blaster.

I have the problem of no audio when I play back HD files that have been recorded and on HD channels if I pause the live recording I loose the audio. Video looks great! Also, when I record a standard definition source audio and video are fine. I tried to apply the patch (I just unzipped the file into the GBPVR folder) listed earlier in the thread, but it made no difference. Any suggestions? I am running v1.3.11 and have included the log file if that helps. Thanks for any suggestions.

Specs: AMDx2 5200, Happauge 1800 tuner card.
