Waste of time. These guys apparently have this vote every three months, and they get it wrong every time.
I bet Michael Bay uses GBPVR because it's awesome:

They have an actual poll now (bottom of page):

Not a bad blurb on GBPVR actually.

It's a 'real' poll too!

It's also a genuine poll!

I voted, but I can't believe all the Media Center love. Hacking just isn't what it used to be. Wink

I've helped a number of people set up Media Center, and those who use seem to like it.
Love it, in fact.

It is their call. I won't argue, but I won't agree.

I only used WIndows Media Center a bit, but I'd say it was pretty good other than the potential DRM annoyances mainly. It can't link to an MVP or anything either, as far as I know, but for one computer/one TV, and the ease of setup and all that, it has its place.

I mean, GBPVR is better and can do more, but for an alternative to something like Beyond TV where you can punch in your zip code and be done, it's not bad.

one big reason i like gbpvr is that io can ask the programmer something and it gets done
plus sub lives in NZ and so do i so he knows straight away what im talking about
any USA company doesnt really give a stuff about this end of the world so that pretty much counts the rest out
plus many more reasons

Actually that's what the Xbox360 is for. It's acts as a media extender for MCE2005 and Vista and is HD capable which is nice. I used MCE 2005 for a little while and it was OK I ended up changing back to GBPVR though because I found MCE to be a bit buggy and difficult to troubleshoot. When it is working properly though it does integrate nicely with everything and is pretty easy to use and setup. GBPVR is better but hey I guess it all depends on what you're looking for.
