Hi all,

Hope you are all well, been a long time since I've posted here.

I'm having a slight issue and was wondering if anyone could help, I have a new install of XP SP3 on my server and GBPVR 1.3.7 with the survival patches installed.
My client is also XP SP3, (not a fresh install)

The issue is that on the client machine on a change of show - the audio remains but the picture freezes, it's not a complete lockup, I can go back to the TV guide and then select the station again.
I've tried with the clent streaming and the DVR-MS Mux selected on the server and the client file sharing and the TS Mux selected.
The server doesn't show this issue!

Any ideas anyone? I've attached the logs of both client and server if anyone is interested!

Many thanks,

DaveR

Try a different video codec on the client. Some codecs get thrown off by the blank between programs / adverts. I'm using MPV codec and it is fine on my machine - but this is mpeg, streaming. I'm not sure that it's the best one for TS but a search should throw up a few alternatives..

you could try setting <LiveTVPrePlayDelay>6500</LiveTVPrePlayDelay> in the clients config.xml as proposed in
http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...stcount=11

helped to make my client-connection better.

Thanks folks,

Hi Fuzzweed, I gave that a go and no joy, I put it back into streaming mode with DVR-MS and the MPV decoder, still the frozen picture with no audio.

Hi Turas I'll give that a go later - the kids are home now so heaven help me if I touch the TV ;-)

I'll report back later!

I've just finished building a client for the bedroom, again XP SP3 so it'll be interesting to see if it happens there!

oh,hang on. I'm pretty sure dvr-ms isnt supported in streaming mode (file sharing only). You need to use mpeg for streaming.

Ahh...... I thought that was mpeg. So it looks like I need to get my hands on an Mpeg mux then!

Edit - Fuzzweed, I am such an idiot, getting totally confused about muxes etc, just been reading up on this and because I have the PVR-150 it is using MPEG by default as far as I can see from the logs. So I'm about to test my 2nd client machine and I'll report back (kids watching their Friday night DVD!!)

Hi folks,

Just to wrap this one up, The second client machine, (made from bits) streams TV perfectly (has done for the last few hours) even with the nvidia purevideo decoder.

So that means a windows re-install on the machine giving the problems!

Thanks again folks -
