Anyone out there with experience with the non-flash based MediaMVP?
I have had the same types of problems with this thing using the Hauppauge software, GBPVR and now MVPMC (MythTV). The thing will boot fine, once or twice maybe. Then eventually it will get to the MVPMC boot progress indicator (the 7 or 8 squares) and will get stuck at the last square. It will show 4 red squares, 3 green squares and the last square will alternate between blue and grey (maybe white).
The troubles with GBPVR and Hauppauge software were similar. The thing would get an IP, run the "Loading Application" part and usually get stuck somewhere after that.
This seems to be a problem with the hardware, or maybe it's some incompatibility of the software I am loading on it... it is Model 86001 revision D3A Lot # 4503.
Maybe there is some kind of hardware hack for a full reset (better than unplugging the power adaptor). It seems like there is some residual memory in there somewhere because it seems to want to be left unplugged for 30 seconds or (much) longer sometimes... or maybe this is something on the backend (tftp or dhcp server) timing out? I have had this problem, then left it sit for a few days (while I contemplate destroying it), come back and try again and it boots straight away!
My appologies for cross-posting, this will be posted in every MVP related forum I can find, so if you troll several related forums I'll be there too!
Sick of having this problem, and would love to use this nifty little piece of technology.
