Well after my failed attempt in the early hours of this morning, I put my 500 back in the machine this afternoon and took out my 350 (I deleted the 350 driver from Device Manager before shutting the machine down to remove the card, and also removed the capture source for it in Config.exe).

The 500 installs fine and I see the two tuners in Device Manager. I setup two capture sources for the tuners (#1 & #2) and did the usual with the EPGs etc. etc. All looked fine.

I then scheduled two recordings to start at 6pm as a test. GB-PVR seemed to go through the motions (it created the folders for the two shows) but the systray icon sat at red and when I brought it up it said both sources were sleeping.

I tried all manner of recording attempts - sheduled one at a time, manual recording (one or two at a time) still nothing. Going to Live TV causes the assertion failure in the recording services as mentioned in various posts (Line 52, dbgdel.cpp etc.).

I'm using XP Pro, not MCE, but using the MCE drivers for the 500 which seem to install fine. Can anybody suggest anthing for getting a 500 working? Please?

Cheers,
Brian [Image: sad.gif]

Try accessing live tv, then email all the logs from c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr to me at support@devnz.com and I'll take a look for you.

Any luck on resolving this? I tried installing my PVR500 tonight with both 90.10 and 91 and got the same result, both tuners sleep when a recording is scheduled. live tv doesn't work either.

The front page says:

# Hauppauge PVR250, PVR250MCE, "Roslyn/Blackbird", PVR350, PVR USB2 cards
# Hauppauge PVR150 and dual-tuner PVR500

Are there two PVR-500s? a regular and a MCE? Maybe it just works it the non mce?

The MCE 'tag' on Hauppauge cards pretty much means that it doesn't come with a remote or anything else because it's designed to work with XP MCE which is supposed to provide all the other bits for you. Mine is a 500MCE and I'm using the MCE drivers from the Hauppauge US site - my OS is XP Pro though, not XP MCE.

Do you have a VIA chipset on your motherboard by any chance?

About two weeks ago I bought a pvr 500mce (difference is that the pvr 500 has a remote and tv/pvr software, 500mce has no remote adds a FM tuner and only comes with drivers on cd) and after allowing it to install with drivers from the cd I load GBpvr. Following pretty much the same steps - add tuners in config, then sign up for zap2it, then update EPG - everything has been working fine for me. I am able to watch TV and record at same time and there doesn't seem to be any issues. I know that I am not really adding any new information, however I really just wanted to confirm that this can and does work using a pvr 500mce. BTW - I am running XP Pro.

UPDATE - I spotted after my last post that they've released some newer drivers since the 2.3C versions that I was using. You might want to try those to see if they help.
