Hi, I'm new to all this and am trying to get my PVR set up under WinXP Pro 32-bit. I'm getting rather frustrated and, before I go out and buy an MCE remote or use another blaster-type program, I thought that there may be something I'm missing and wanted to get your input.

My capture card is the Hauppauge WinTV 1800-MCE, which came with the IR receiver, blaster, and an MCE clone remote (RRS9002-86XXF).

I'm using the IR Server Suite, the 1.4.2 version, and irblast.exe is set under ".exe Channel Changer".

My STB is a Hughes (DirecTV) HIRD-E1.

I'm having trouble blasting commands to my STB to change the channels. They change in GBPVR just fine, but are not registering the output on the STB.

I don't use IR Server Suite, but does that program's config let you send test blasts? Do those work OK?

Yes, it does, and yes, they do. If I use the Debug Client, I can Learn IR and Blast IR successfully but, if I go into the setup, I'm not able to learn the commands from the remote. It times out first and doesn't pick them up. Not sure what to do about that.

Alright, I got it fixed. I came across another post, and it seems that, for blasting commands, the port had to be specified for the output IR Server Suite sends:

irblast.exe -host localhost -port Port_1 -pad 3 -channel {channel}

Everything works fine now. Hopefully this helps someone having a similar problem.

Thanks for trying, TonyXL.
